Plumbing Services
This water hammer noise is caused by a sudden change in water pressure, often when a valve closes quickly (like in a washing machine or tap), sending a shock wave through the pipes. We can resolve this by installing specialised arrestors or a pressure-reducing device to protect your system components.
The clearest sign of a failed Part 2 Ball Valve in your cold water tank is continuous water running from your overflow pipe (usually located in the external eaves of your home). This means the valve may have failed and could be continuously filling the tank, which needs urgent repair to avoid damage.
Absolutely. Our team works meticulously to detect and trace the source of hidden leaks, minimising disruption to your property. We don’t just fix the pipe – we ensure the repair prevents any further, costly damage.
Old, mouldy silicone sealant is not only unsightly but can also become compromised, allowing water to seep behind shower trays, baths, or sinks. We chemically clean the area and apply new, high-quality sealant to fully restore the watertight barrier.
Heating & Hot Water Systems
G3 certification is all about your family’s safety.
G3 is the section of the UK Building Regulations that covers the installation and maintenance of unvented hot water systems. These are pressurised hot water cylinders that operate directly off the mains water supply, rather than relying on a cold water storage tank in the loft.
Because unvented cylinders operate under mains pressure, they can be dangerous if incorrectly installed or maintained. A faulty cylinder could overheat and, in extreme cases, cause an explosion. For this reason, only plumbers who hold a specific G3 qualification are legally permitted to install, commission, or carry out certain types of work on unvented hot water systems.
The qualification involves both theoretical training and practical assessment, and qualified engineers are expected to understand the safety devices fitted to unvented cylinders, such as the pressure relief valve, temperature relief valve, and expansion vessel, and ensure they are correctly installed and functioning.
Because our team at Sally’s Pipe Dream is G3 qualified, you can trust that your high-pressure hot water cylinder will be installed and maintained safely and legally, eliminating the risk of dangerous failure.
This usually indicates an efficiency issue. Radiator cold spots are typically caused by sludge and corrosion (magnetic sludge at the bottom) or trapped air (cold at the top). We can rectify this with a chemical clean and inhibitor treatment or by bleeding the system.
At times, the TRV or radiator could have failed, we can replace these products for you.
If you notice any leaks or unusual noises, it’s important to get in touch with us straight away. Our experienced team will promptly assess the issue and recommend the best course of action to restore your heating system to optimal condition.
Our Chemical Clean offers a gentle, non-invasive way to enhance your heating system’s efficiency. It works by breaking down sludge and protecting against corrosion. It could help with energy efficiency and reduce your heating bills, as well as improving the longevity of your heating system.
It is worth bearing in mind that the chemical cleaner will move through your boiler, radiators, pipework, valves and central heating pump
