Our story: Detailed profiles
Sally King
Our Founder, Plumber, and G3 Specialist
Hi, I’m Sally and welcome to Sally’s Pipe Dream!
I grew up in Reading with my three older brothers. This lively environment played a significant role in shaping both my character and my values, teaching me the importance of adaptability and teamwork from an early age. Family is at the heart of who I am. I am the proud mother of two amazing grown-up sons, and I am happily married to my wife, Lorraine.
I began my career in plumbing in 2008 after successfully achieving my NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications. During this formative period, I also took the initiative to pursue my G3 unvented qualification and was pleased to pass this as well. Over the years, I have gained valuable experience working for a variety of companies. My roles have involved carrying out a broad spectrum of plumbing duties, all performed to a high specification and standard. This exposure has allowed me to hone my skills and maintain a commitment to excellent workmanship.
On 1st February 2019, I made the decision to establish myself as a self-employed plumber. Together with Lorraine, we have formed a dedicated team at Sally’s Pipe Dream. Our partnership is built on professionalism and a shared commitment to quality.
One of the main reasons I was drawn to this profession was the sheer variety it offers. Working as a plumber keeps every day interesting, as no two days are ever the same. I particularly love meeting and talking to new people along the way. There is a real satisfaction that comes from completing a job to my high standards and seeing a smile on my client’s face. Knowing that I’ve helped someone resolve an issue in their home or business gives me a genuine sense of fulfilment.

Lorraine King
Co-founder, Administration and Customer Care Partner
Hi, I’m Lorraine. I grew up in Reading. I am proud to be a mother to my son and a grandmother to two wonderful granddaughters.
In November 2019, I became a partner at Sally’s Pipe Dream. My responsibilities included administration and bookkeeping. I am naturally proactive and technically minded, drawing on my experience in telecoms and facilities management, including scheduling engineers and managing projects.
In October 2020, I decided to fully commit to Sally’s Pipe Dream, leaving my previous job and becoming a full-time partner. My duties expanded to include conducting site visits and gathering information for quotations. I take pride in my organisational abilities and am passionate about delivering excellent customer satisfaction.

Becky Gregg
Our Future, NVQ Apprentice
Hi. I’m Becky. I was raised in Reading and am currently a student working towards my Level 2/3 NVQ in Plumbing. Having recently joined the team, I am enthusiastic and eager to develop new skills as I embark on this career path.
I discovered my passion for practical and manual work during a previous role as a Forest School Lead, which inspired a change in my career direction. The support and encouragement I have received from my colleagues has been invaluable, helping me to build confidence as I learn new techniques and take on more responsibilities. I look forward to my future with Sally’s Pipe Dream.
