Our work: see the quality and cleanliness for yourself
Bathroom renovation with walk-in bath installation
This bathroom renovation centred around improving accessibility for the client, with the old standard bath replaced by a modern walk-in bath featuring a watertight glass and chrome door panel for easy entry and exit.
The project included a full suite replacement, with a new close-coupled toilet, vanity unit with basin and tall chrome mixer tap, and a thermostatic bar shower also fitted to the wall. All associated pipework, waste connections and water supplies were installed as part of the refit, leaving a clean, modern bathroom that is both practical and comfortable to use.
3 port valve and pipework replacement
A 3 port valve controls the flow of hot water between the central heating and hot water outlets, directing water to whichever zone is calling for heat. When these valves fail or become unreliable, the result is often a heating system that won’t switch correctly between hot water and central heating, or one that stops working altogether.
In this project, Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced an ageing 3 port valve along with the associated pipework, bringing the system up to date with new copper pipework and a fresh wiring connection. The result is a reliable, correctly functioning heating and hot water system.
Hot water cylinder replacement
When a hot water cylinder fails, the signs are usually hard to miss. The before photo here shows the old cylinder with significant corrosion and water damage around the immersion heater port, a clear indication that the unit had reached the end of its life and needed replacing as a matter of urgency.
Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced the old cylinder with a new Gledhill Envirofoam Copper vented cylinder, which fits neatly into the client’s existing airing cupboard space. The Gledhill Envirofoam cylinder features high-performance foam insulation to minimise heat loss and keep running costs down.
Replacement multiblock valve & control
The multiblock, or inlet control group, is a critical safety component on any unvented hot water cylinder. It combines a pressure-reducing valve, check valve, and pressure relief valve into a single unit, regulating incoming mains pressure and protecting the cylinder from overpressure.
Over time these valves can deteriorate, leading to pressure fluctuations, dripping relief valves, or in worse cases, a risk to the safe operation of the cylinder.
In this project, Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced the existing multiblock with a new Gledhill unit, along with new copper pipework and a braided flexible connector. As with all unvented cylinder work carried out by Sally’s Pipe Dream, the installation is fully compliant with G3 regulations.
Kitchen sink, mixer tap & pipework replacement
The old black composite sink and tap in this kitchen had seen better days and were ready for an update.
Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced the existing setup with a new stainless steel 1.5 bowl sink and a contemporary swan neck mixer tap in white and chrome, giving the kitchen a much cleaner, more modern look. The pipework beneath was also replaced as part of the job, with fresh white pipework providing a neat and professional finish.
Shower valve replacement
The existing Bristan thermostatic bar shower valve in this bathroom had worn out wall connectors and was showing its age, with limescale and corrosion building up around the fittings.
Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced the old shower valve with a new Bristan thermostatic valve, fitted neatly to the wall with fresh chrome connectors, restoring reliable temperature control and giving the shower a clean, smart appearance.
Full bathroom renovation
This full bathroom renovation transformed a tired but functional bathroom into a modern, stylish space.
The existing pedestal basin, toilet and shower were all replaced as part of the refit. The new suite features a navy blue vanity unit with basin, a contemporary close-coupled toilet, and a new corner shower enclosure with thermostatic shower. The room was also completely retiled, with large format marble-effect wall tiles and dark grey floor tiles giving the space a much more luxurious feel.
Sally’s Pipe Dream handled all the plumbing and installation work, including the new water supplies, waste connections and shower pipework, working alongside the tiling contractor to deliver a seamless finish throughout.
Stop tap replacement
The old stop tap in this property had corroded badly over the years and was accessed through a panel in the wall. In this condition, a stop tap can become impossible to operate in an emergency, which is a serious concern if a leak or burst pipe requires the water supply to be shut off quickly.
Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced the old tap with a new WRAS-approved lever isolation valve, which is far easier to operate and gives a clear visual indication of whether the supply is on or off.
An important job, giving the homeowner confidence that their water supply can be shut off quickly and reliably when needed.
Central heating pump
The central heating pump is responsible for circulating hot water around the heating system. When it fails or becomes inefficient, radiators can stop heating properly or the system may not work at all.
The old Myson pump in this property had heavily corroded fittings and was well past its best. Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced it with a new Interpart pump, along with fresh brass isolation valves on either side, making future servicing or replacement much more straightforward.
Crooked shower valve
The existing thermostatic bar shower valve in this bathroom had been incorrectly fitted, leaving it sitting at an angle on the wall, and the connections had accumulated significant limescale over the years.
Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced the old shower valve with a new Bristan thermostatic shower valve, fitted correctly and squarely to the wall with clean chrome wall connectors, giving a much smarter and more professional finish.
Downstairs cloakroom renovation
This cloakroom renovation gave a tired downstairs toilet a complete refresh.
Sally’s Pipe Dream fitted a back-to-wall toilet and a vanity unit with basin and chrome mixer tap, all neatly housed within a white panelled furniture unit that gives the room a clean, built-in finish. The work included all associated supply and waste pipework connections to complete the installation.
Vented cylinder replacement
The old Hercal indirect cylinder in this property had reached the end of its life, with the associated pipework and fittings showing some corrosion and wear.
Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced the cylinder with a new Gledhill Envirofoam Stainless vented cylinder, complete with fresh copper pipework. The Gledhill Envirofoam Stainless range carries an A energy rating, offering improved efficiency and reduced heat loss compared to older cylinder designs.
Bath, taps, screen and panel replacement
Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced an ageing bath with a new white bath, complete with a chrome bath and shower mixer tap, a new glass bath screen, and fresh front and end panels.
The work was carried out as part of a bathroom refresh, with all waste and water supply connections replaced during the installation, leaving a clean, neat finish throughout.
Exposed shower valve
The old Mira concealed thermostatic shower valve in this bathroom had seen significant limescale build-up over the years and was ready for replacement.
Rather than fitting another concealed valve, Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced the shower valve with a modern exposed chrome shower valve. This involved a small amount of tiling work to close off the recess left by the old concealed fitting and provide a clean surface for the new valve to sit against.
The result is a smart, easy-to-use shower valve that sits neatly against the original tiled wall.
Central heating pump replacement
The old central heating pump in this property had heavily corroded fittings and was well past its working life.
Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced the central heating pump with a new Grundfos UPS3, one of the most reliable and energy-efficient pumps available, fitted with fresh brass isolation valves on either side for easy future servicing. The Grundfos UPS3 features automatic speed adjustment to match the demands of the heating system, helping to reduce energy consumption compared to older fixed-speed pumps.
Towel rail radiator and valve replacement
The old towel rail in this bathroom had deteriorated significantly, with the paintwork flaking badly on the body and the valve fittings heavily corroded at the base.
Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced the tired towel rail with a new white ladder-style towel rail radiator, complete with new valves and neat copper pipe connections, finished with white floor roses to give a clean and professional result.
Immersion heater replacement
When an immersion heater element fails, the result is a loss of hot water that can leave a household without heating or washing facilities until it is replaced.
Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced the old immersion heater element with a new Interpart unit, correctly fitted and wired into the cylinder, restoring reliable electric water heating to the property.
Bathroom vanity unit, basin and tap replacement
The existing bathroom vanity unit and basin in this project had a traditional dark wood finish with separate pillar taps and a chain plug, and was ready for a more contemporary update.
Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced the old sink unit with a modern white gloss vanity unit fitted with a wide rectangular basin and a chrome mixer tap, along with a new trap and waste, giving the bathroom a much cleaner and more up-to-date look.
Vintage shower valve replacement
Concealed thermostatic shower valves are fitted behind the wall for a clean, minimal look, but when they reach the end of their life, particularly older vintage models, replacement can be a more complex job than a standard shower repair.
In this project, Sally’s Pipe Dream removed an ageing concealed Triton thermostatic shower valve and replaced it with a modern external shower bar, bringing the installation up to date while maintaining full thermostatic temperature control.
The work also involved a small amount of tiling to neatly finish the area where the concealed valve had been removed, leaving a clean and professional result.
Multiblock and Pipework Replacement
In this project, Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced the existing pipework and multiblock, ensuring everything was correctly fitted and fully compliant with G3 unvented cylinder regulations.
A multiblock (or combination valve) is a critical safety component on unvented hot water cylinders. It combines three key functions into a single unit – reducing incoming mains water pressure to a safe level, preventing backflow into the mains supply, and relieving excess pressure to prevent cylinder failure.
Over time, multiblocks and their associated pipework can deteriorate or be incorrectly fitted, compromising the safety and efficiency of your hot water system.
Basin, Tap and Waste Replacement
Older bathroom basins and taps can date a room considerably, and ageing components can also become increasingly prone to leaks and wear over time.
In this project, Sally’s Pipe Dream removed an outdated beige basin with a pair of old-fashioned pillar taps and a chain plug, replacing them with a new white inset basin and a slim chrome mixer tap, complete with a modern click-clack waste, giving the bathroom a much cleaner and more contemporary look.
Replace vented cylinder
The old cylinder in this project was a well-worn Super Seven vented copper cylinder that had clearly reached the end of its working life. As you can see in the before photo, there was significant rust and corrosion staining around the immersion heater ports, and the associated pipework was equally tired and dated — a sure sign the system was overdue for replacement.
Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced the old unit with a new 120L Gledhill indirect copper vented cylinder. The new cylinder features 35mm foam insulation for improved efficiency and is designed for fully pumped systems, ensuring reliable and consistent hot water delivery throughout the home.
Unvented Cylinder Pipework Replacement
Unvented hot water cylinders operate under mains pressure, which means the pipework configuration is critical to the safe and efficient operation of the system. Incorrectly fitted or ageing pipework can compromise performance and, in some cases, create safety risks.
In this project, Sally’s Pipe Dream replaced the existing pipework on an unvented cylinder, ensuring everything was correctly configured and fully compliant with G3 unvented cylinder regulations. The work ensures the system operates safely and efficiently, with all safety devices properly connected and functioning as intended.
